Each warrior (minus a few) has a weapon ~ These can be used on your higher level warriors for permanent stat increases.
Each warrior also has a building (minus a few) ~ These power up a type of unit (Element or Weapon type), makes it easier to find items, gets you more Coins, Increase the +1 Weapon chance or increases your Max Total Supply limit.

Recommendations

(Great Thief) Ishikawa Goemon She is a light thrown-type warrior. Her EX skill damages all enemies and make her invisible for a time. Her technique can damage 1 random enemy and recover HP for 1 ally with lowest remaining HP. With her technique, she is a powerful healer in Mission. With her skill, she becomes an invincible warrior in Ranked Duel and Siege Battle.

(Onmyō Gunner) Kiichi Hōgen She is a fire gun-type warrior. Her EX skill can damage 3 enemies, inflicting silence and removing their shield. Her technique can damage enemies within range and remove their shield. She is one of the warriors that have the highest base ATK in this game, also her silence is useful in many case. The shield-remove effect is useful depending on the situation.

(Destructor) Shima Sakon She is a dark slash-type warrior. Her EX skill can damage all enemies, inflicting paralyze on them, then inflict confusion on 1~3 enemies. Her technique can recover HP for 1 ally with lowest remaining HP. This technique make her a good tank in Mission. Her EX skill is useful in any mode (especially in Ranked Duel) except Raid Boss.

(Atago Avatar) Naoe Kanetsugu She is a dark slash-type warrior. Her EX skill can nullify all damage taken for a time, that make her a good tank in Mission and Siege Battle. During early game, she can help you a lot in ranked duel thank to her EX skill, but during mid and late game she will become easy to counter since her base stat is not as high as other slash-type warriors.

(Shot-Caller) Uesugi Kagetora She is a (trap) light Strike-type warrior. Her EX skill can double the ATK of all allies for a short time. This EX skill is very useful during early game, when most of unit dont have high ATK. But using her during mid and late game is not recommend because her technique can damage 1~5 random units INCLUDING ALLIES, I am sure you don't want to see your warrior suddenly get killed by your teammate.

(High Priest) Hongan-ji Kennyo She is a light Thrown-type warrior. Her EX skill can recover HP for allies and remove one debuff effect from them. Her technique can damage and inflict charm on 1 enemy. She is one of the key warriors in Raid Boss. Boss can inflict various debuff effect on your warriors, so you need a debuff-remove warrior. Also her charm effect is very useful in Mission

(Castle Crusher) Kuroda Kanbei this is a must have warrior, not only recommended Her EX skill can cast a shield on allies that nullifies all damage taken from slash-type. The first Boss in Raid is Akechi Mitsuhide, her weapon type is slash, and if you have Kanbei, you can raid Akechi as many as you want. Raiding this boss give you various rewards like evolve orbs or gold, and that is why you need Kanbei.
